Extend and Upscale Veo 3.1 Results

Eligible completed videos can expose follow-up actions in My Works. These actions create a separate result; they do not overwrite the source video.

Available actions

The interface displays the exact cost before submission. Action eligibility can depend on the source result and the available provider controls.

Extend a video

Use Extend when the existing shot is good and you want the scene to continue. Write the extension prompt as the next beat, not a summary of the original clip.

1. Open My Works.
2. Select an eligible completed result.
3. Choose Extend video.
4. Select Lite, Fast, or Quality for the extension.
5. Describe what happens immediately after the source clip.
6. Review the credit cost and submit.

Example:

Continue from the final frame. The camera follows the cyclist around the corner
as the street opens into a sunlit square. Keep the same rider, bicycle, clothing,
weather, and camera height. Smooth forward motion with no scene cut.

An effective extension preserves continuity:

• repeat the subject details that must remain stable;
• continue the camera direction instead of reversing it without explanation;
• keep lighting and weather compatible;
• ask for one next action;
• avoid introducing a distant new location immediately.

Enhance to 1080p or 4K

Enhancement is useful after you have selected a result worth keeping. It increases the delivery resolution but does not repair prompt meaning, composition, identity drift, or unwanted objects.

Choose 1080p for standard HD delivery. Choose 4K when the final edit needs a large canvas, cropping, compositing, or a high-resolution master. See Models, resolutions, and credits for the generation table and draft-to-final workflow.

Track the new result

An extension or enhancement appears as its own task. Keep the source result until you have reviewed and downloaded the new version. If an action is still processing, you can leave the page and check My Works later.

Temporary result links

New videos use temporary provider result links and remain visible in My Works for up to 14 days. Veo3o1 does not promise permanent media storage. Download every source, extension, and enhanced result you want to keep.

Troubleshooting

The action is unavailable

The source result may not be eligible for that action. Confirm that the original generation completed successfully and that the action appears in the interface.

The extension changes the scene

Shorten the extension prompt, describe continuity from the final frame, and repeat the fixed subject, environment, lighting, and camera direction.

Higher resolution does not improve the composition

This is expected. Return to the generator and revise the prompt, references, or shot design. Resolution changes file detail, not creative intent.
