Resolution is easy to overvalue in AI video. A 4K file can still contain the wrong action, weak composition, or inconsistent subject. The efficient approach is to solve the creative problem first and pay for higher resolution when the shot has a real delivery need.
Veo3o1 supports 720p, 1080p, and 4K selections. The model preset and resolution together determine the credit reservation shown before generation.
| Preset | 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | 15 | 23 | 75 |
| Fast | 30 | 38 | 90 |
| Quality | 225 | 233 | 285 |
These are current application values. Always use the amount displayed in the generator as the final pre-submit reference.
When 720p is enough
Use 720p when you are answering creative questions:
- Does the prompt produce the intended subject and action?
- Is the camera move readable?
- Do the reference images work together?
- Should the composition be horizontal or vertical?
- Is the duration long enough for the motion?
At this stage, changing the wording or input images has more impact than increasing pixel dimensions. 720p is also practical for internal previews, storyboards, and mobile review when the file is not the final deliverable.
When to choose 1080p
1080p is the common working resolution for finished social posts, web placements, presentations, and standard HD editing timelines. Choose it when the concept is stable and the output will be viewed beyond a quick draft.
Before moving up, inspect the 720p version for identity drift, unwanted objects, text artifacts, awkward motion, and composition problems. Higher resolution makes detail more visible; it does not remove those issues.
When 4K makes sense
4K is useful when the final workflow needs extra pixels for a large canvas, reframing, cropping, compositing, or a high-resolution master. It is usually unnecessary for early prompt exploration.
Ask three questions:
- Will the destination actually display or use 4K?
- Is the shot approved enough to justify the higher credit cost?
- Do you need cropping or post-production flexibility?
If the answer is no, 1080p may be the more efficient final format.
Generate high resolution or enhance later?
Eligible results may offer enhancement actions:
- enhance to 1080p: 8 credits;
- enhance to 4K: 60 credits.
Enhancement is useful when you already have a result worth keeping. It lets you separate creative selection from final delivery. Generating directly at the target resolution can be simpler when the shot is already approved and the selected control combination is available.
An enhancement action creates a separate result and has its own displayed cost. It should not be treated as a way to fix prompt meaning, subject consistency, or motion direction.
Recommended resolution workflow
- Draft at 720p.
- Keep the model, aspect ratio, duration, references, and seed recorded.
- Change one creative variable at a time.
- Select the best motion and composition.
- Generate or enhance to the resolution required by the destination.
- Download the final result promptly because result links are temporary.
